OVERVIEW

The Lexus of London Golf Classic (LOLGC), which was founded in 2000, is an annual fundraiser hosted and sponsored by Lexus of London in support of the beneficiary, the London Health Sciences Foundation (LHSF). The proceeds from this event are donated to LHSF with the sole intention of providing financial support to Dr. Joseph Chin and his team in the fight against prostate cancer. This established event aims to maximize its fundraising efforts through partnerships with donors, corporate sponsors, volunteers, hospital employees and participants.

Having raised over 1.5 million dollars in total donations this event is widely recognized as one of the most successful charity golf tournaments in Ontario. The LOLGC is a two day event that features an invitation only Gala and auction on Sunday evening and a large golf tournament and dinner on Monday.

RECRUITMENT

The Lexus of London Golf Classic is recruiting members to sit on the board. The role of the LOLGC Board is to raise funds in support of LHSF, to provide advice on event strategies, and to take an active role in all decisions and planning through an informal voting process.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend monthly meetings to review details of the event, identify areas of focus, confirm individual goals and commitments, and establish required support from Lexus of London and LHSF.
Working collaboratively with the Board and LHSF staff, develop strategies to engage and solicit prospects and donors in accordance with agreed upon goals.
Leverage personal and business relationships to attract new donors of cash, acquire live/silent auction items, and solicit in kind donations.
Strategically build relationships and invite potential sponsors and participants to the event with the purpose of increasing overall financial support of the event.
Assist with the identification, cultivation and recruitment of new Board members who represent a diverse network of community stakeholders.
